Question: Is the word “human resources” an old fashioned and ignorant term.?
Well…humans aren’t resources are we? We’re creative and social individuals with feelings.
Making all your employees feel like they belong to you and they are not themselves during that time can’t be good for morale can it?
Misslabeled do you work in HR?

If those “mere cogs” stop working then everyone is in deep sh8t. Those mere cogs might do the most important job in your business (serving your customers)

A company is an entity that utilizes it’s assets or resources to function. Everything takes time and money. You will hear business jargon, for “We can’t afford it” is now typically stated in terms like: “We just don’t have the resources”.

The other finite resources can be raw materials, space/facility or most of the time: the necessary manpower or talent available, or Human Resources.

HR will continue to be critical in especially the US economy as there is a growing shortage of qualified people to meet the demand for highly skilled positions.

The Human Resource function is generally responsible for making sure the company’s most valuable asset is effectively recruited and retained.
